Danny uses poetry and rap in many different educational settings.

He has delivered workshops and projects with marginalised, disadvantaged and at-risk young people, focusing on poetry and/or rap as a self-empowerment tool and positive outlet for expression, personal growth and confidence building.

He also delivers writing workshops specialising in areas such as Hip Hop & Poetry, Vulnerability and Self-Expression. He can tailor his content to specific themes upon request.

  • Schools + Young People

    Danny has delivered poetry and/or rap workshops with schools, charities and youth groups all over the country, from KS1 students all the way through to college / sixth form.

    He regularly delivers schools workshops for The Poetry Society, and has mentored the Foyle Young Poets annual winners at a week-long Arvon writing retreat since 2022.

  • Adults

    Danny is a published poet with a deep knowledge and understanding of contemporary poetry. He is available for workshops and courses for adult writers to take their poetry and career skills to the next level, as well as 1-1 mentoring.

    He has also co-delivered a week-long series of performance poetry workshops at the esteemed Alpbach Forum in Austria, runs rap workshops as part of literature festivals in prisons, and has delivered talks and workshops on poetry and rap in UK Universities.

    His workshops can range anywhere from a 1 hour session to regular long-term projects.

Skills + Qualifications

Danny has an Enhanced DBS, Mental Health in the Workplace training, and is qualified to deliver Arts Award for young people.

  • Full driving licence and is able to travel around the UK to facilitate sessions.

  • Highly experienced, he has been a performing rapper and poet for over 10 years.

  • Degree in English and Philosophy from the University of Bristol, and an MA in Spoken Word / Transnational Writing from Bath Spa University.
